Onam Recipe : 4



Today, here in this Onam Recipe Section, we are going to present a Thoran.
We can use the Thoran as a side dish or as a main dish - alongwith chapathi etc.
In a feast, as a side, this is one of a main item.
Mostly with all vegetables we can make the Thoran.

Here, we are giving a Colourful, Healthy & Tasty one.  Just enjoy !



Carrot-Cabbage-Beans Thoran
(Dry dish made of a finely chopped vegetables)

Ingredients :

Carrot



100 g.
Beans 100 g.
Cabbage 50 g.
Green Chilli 10 nos.
Coconut Oil 3 tab. sp.
Toor Dal (lentil) 1 tab. sp.
Mustard As req.
Curry leaves As req.
Salt As req.

Method :

-          Finely Chop the vegetables.
-          In a vessel, add 1 tab.sp. oil and fry toor dal.
-          Add carrot and beans, saute for 1-2 minutes.
-          Add ¾ cup of water, salt and cook. Before it gets dry, add cabbage and chilly.
-          Mix well. Remove from the fire. Keep close, to get the cabbage cooked.
-          Heat the balance oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds.
-          Fry till the spluttering stops and add the curry leaves and add to the vegetable mix.
